Prison inmate charged with sexual assault

The Nebraska State Patrol has charged a Nebraska prison inmate with the sexual assault of another inmate.

NSP investigators arrested Jamar Allen Wells on Monday. Wells is currently incarcerated at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution, NSP spokesman Cody Thomas said.

The arrest follows an investigation into a reported sexual assault that occurred in October 2023 at the Reception and Treatment Center in Lincoln.

Wells, 36, was cited for first-degree sexual assault and making terroristic threats. The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services helped in the investigation, Thomas said.
