President Donald Trump is coming to Grand Island next Monday, Oct. 5, a Nebraska Republican Party official confirmed to the Nebraska Examiner.
The stop in Grand Island comes as Trump begins his midterm campaign blitz to shore up red states as Election Day approaches. The president has planned trips to Oklahoma and Iowa, Florida, Texas and Alaska.
The visit to Nebraska State Fair’s Pinnacle Bank Expo Center will be focused on rallying Republicans for Nebraska Sen. Pete Ricketts in a heated race against Dan Osborn.
The last time Trump came to Nebraska was in 2022 for a campaign rally for Charles Herbster in his bid for governor.
Dave Plond, chairman of the Hall County Republican Party, told Central Nebraska Today that the last president to come to Grand Island was former President George W. Bush.
Election Day is Nov. 3.
