North Platte police will participate in a drug-impaired driving enforcement campaign on Friday-Sunday, April 18-20.
The emphasis will be to remove impaired drivers from the roads, the department said in the announcement. More officers will be on patrol.
In 2023, 24 fatal crashes in Nebraska involved drivers under the influence of drugs. In 2024, that number grew to 36.
Whether using prescription drugs or illegal substances, if you feel different, you drive different, the police said.

TDS drivers…that might wish to cause damage to other people’s vehicles. Please check yourselves into the local hospital. Before you do something that will involve you in a felony conviction. Your convictions…”do not” prevent you from being prosecuted for destruction of other people’s property. Something the democrat/communist party should be posting.
Your comments are not really relevant to what law enforcement will be doing this week-end.
Happy Holidays everyone (4/20)
