Acting on an anonymous Crime Stoppers tip, the North Platte police raided a home near the middle of town Tuesday and found drugs, weapons and cash.
The tip came Monday about drug activity in the 800 block of S. Sycamore (near Philip Ave.), police spokeswoman Beth Kerr said. After further investigation, police obtained a warrant and searched the home at 9:30 a.m. the next morning.
Inside, they found a handgun, 1.7 ounces of methamphetamine, about an ounce of marijuana, a bottle of alprazolam that was not prescribed to anyone at the home, drug paraphernalia, more than $2,000 cash and an incendiary device commonly referred to as a molotov cocktail, according to the police report.
Three people were arrested — Sarah Waugh, 29; Louella Bohman, 54; and Jayden Shannon, 20.
When officers tried to apprehend Shannon, he struggled and had to be hit with taser charge, Kerr said. He was arrested without further incident, she said.
Waugh is charged with possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, distribution of a controlled substance and possession of a destructive device.
Waugh was also wanted on previous charges. She was incarcerated in the Lincoln County jail.
Bohman was charged with distribution of a controlled substance and taken to jail.
Shannon is charged with possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, distribution of a controlled substance and resisting arrest. He is also in jail.
Kerr said another man was in the house but was not arrested.
“Crime Stoppers works!” she said on a Facebook post.
