On Super Sunday Feb. 9, whether cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs or the Philadelphia Eagles, a Super Bowl party should start with a plan to ensure football fans get home safely.

There will be additional police officers on North Platte streets before, during and after the game, with a goal of sidelining impaired drivers.

The North Platte police remind residents that drunk driving kills. Nationally in 2022, 13,524 traffic deaths involved drunk driving, the reminder said.

“Enjoy the Super Bowl, but remember that ‘Fans Don’t Let Fans Drink and Drive,’” the department said.

The game will be held in New Orleans. Kickoff is 5:30 p.m.
