Mitchell Parish of North Platte is a cadet of the Chadron State College ROTC team that recently ran the Army 10 Miler in early October.

The annual Army Ten-Mile Race and Expo is conducted near the nation’s capital.

The eight cadets and First Lt. Scot Mullis, an assistant professor of Military Science at Chadron, traveled to D.C. for the race, and to tour Arlington National Cemetery, the National Mall, and attend the Army USA conference.

Mullis said he is proud of CSC’s team, which finished 41st in a field of 96 teams and about 35,000 runners.

“It’s an impressive finish for a small program competing against larger programs,” Mullis said.

Chadron State College, founded in 1911, is the only four-year, regionally-accredited college in the western half of Nebraska.
