Orville Dean Haynes, 94, of North Platte, died peacefully at Great Plains Health on March 21.  Orville was born on June 17, 1928 in Stapleton to Loyd and Maude (Keiser) Haynes.  His mother passed away when he was 2 ½ years old.  His dad remarried and Orville was blessed to have Ivy (Paxton) Haynes for his mom until her passing away.

He attended Lone Valley School northeast of Stapleton.  Orville was proud to say that he had served in the U.S. Army for several years.  Orville was a regular attendee of Bethel Evangelical Free Church.  He was active in the DAV chapter and the American Legion at Tryon.  On Nov. 18, 1956 he married Frances C. Hayes.  To this union four children were born, Dean, LeAnn, Donna and Karen.  Orville and Frances started out farming northeast of Sutherland and then moved to North Platte in August of 1960.  Where he continued to live until his passing.  Orville was a very hard worker and did a fabulous job of carpentry work.  He helped build a lot of houses here in North Platte alongside with his wonderful boss Lewis Collins.  After he retired, he continued to do remodeling jobs for people.  Orville enjoyed visiting with people.  He wouldn’t let a day or two go by without calling special people in his life.  Our family would like to acknowledge all of the doctors and Home Instead care givers who diligently helped our dad the past several years.
