Organizers will do everything in their power to hold the U.S. Olympic swimming trials from June 13-20 at the CHI Health Center Omaha.

Athletes will vie for the Olympic team, swimming head-to-head in the heats, semifinals and finals.

This is the fourth time that Omaha has gotten the bid to hold the Olympic trials, which is basically unheard of in the swim world, said Patti Harkreader of North Platte, who will be a volunteer at the trials for the fourth time.

Swimmers who win immediately move into training for the Olympics, which will be held a couple weeks after the trials.

Harkreader said there may still be some slots open for volunteers. It is a considerable commitment, but a great opportunity to see world-class American swimmers compete.
