Cold wind and sub-zero wind chills are expected Wednesday through Thursday in west central Nebraska, including the North Platte area.
The National Weather Service in North Platte said north winds will gust up to 25-30 mph through Thursday. The overnight lows will be below zero. The high temperature Thursday will be around 10 degrees.
That will put wind chills in the range of -20 to -30, the weather service said.
A couple inches of snow are in the forecast too.
Light snow began to fall in North Platte around 9 a.m. Wednesday. Wednesday’s high temperature will only reach the mid-teens, the weather service said.
