Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation believes in sparking and growing local philanthropy. By powering North Platte Giving Day, we provide a vital platform that not only raises unrestricted funds for local organizations but also builds their long-term sustainability and encourages deeper civic engagement across the region, its website says.
Donors choose which local nonprofits to support and how much to give. One hundred percent of each Giving Day donation goes to donor-selected nonprofits. The Community Foundation covers campaign and donation processing costs.
“North Platte Giving Day is the best time to help favorite community causes,” said Leland Poppe, the President and Executive Director of Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation.
Fifty-eight cash prizes made donations go further. Cash prizes were donated by sponsors and given to nonprofits based on the donations online or by check during various time periods. The cash prizes ranged from $200-$1,000.
Early Giving opened April 22. Early Giving donations can win cash prizes for nonprofits. As of May 3, $74,260 had been donated through early gifts.
