Two heifers presented by Josie Wilson of North Platte won top honors in Loup Valley Livestock Challenge Aug. 19-20 at Valley County Fairgrounds in Ord.

Wilson showed both the first place and the second place breeding heifers, according to the three-judge panel.

That wasn’t all, not by a long shot. Wilson showed the first place feeder steer and the second place feeder heifer, and she placed second in beef showmanship.

Wilson earned a series of awards sponsored by Boehringer Ingelheim, Scholz Cattle Company, Kovarik Cattle Company, Trotters Whoa and Go, Corteva and Elanco and the Morgan Ranch.

She also earned a college scholarship from the Parts Bin NAPA stores in Ord and St. Paul.

It was the 17th year of the Challenge, sponsored by the Loup Valley Ag Society.

Presenting the awards were Jess Trotter of the Loup Valley Ag Society and Jeff Boilesen of the Parts Bin NAPA stores. (Photos * Penny Root, Nebraska Extension)
