The North Platte 80s got their first ever win on Wednesday when they edged out the Blackwell Flycatchers, 10-9, in an exciting, 11-inning game at Bill Wood Field.

The teams went back and forth throughout the game. The 80s took a 9-6 lead with a three-run eighth inning. But the Flycatchers from northern Oklahoma answered with three runs in the ninth to send the game into extra innings.

Neither team scored until the 80s won it in the bottom of the 11th.

The 80s began their inaugural season with six straight losses in three two-game series against the Tucson Saguaros, the Santa Fe Fuego and the Trinidad Triggers.

The 80s will host the Flycatchers each of the next four days until Sunday.
