Norbert H. Klemptner Jr., 62, left this world on September 26, 2026.

Norbert was born May 11, 1964 to Norbert Sr. and Martha Klemptner in Sunnyvale, Calif. He was a southern boy who made his home in the Sandhills of Nebraska where he spent his adult years living life in his own wild-and-free way.

Norbert was a painter by trade, but anyone who knew him knows that his real talent was making memories wherever he went, usually with a story, a laugh, and probably a cold drink somewhere nearby.

He leaves behind his children, Brent Klemptner, Desirae Broekemier, Amy Jensen, and Jesse Klemptner, and his nine grandchildren, who will carry his stories, his laughter, and his larger-than-life personality with them.

He is also survived by his brothers, Horst Klemptner, Eric Klemptner, and Derek Klemptner, along with many extended family members and friends.

Norbert lived life without much interest in following a script. He was wild, free, funny, stubborn, generous, and completely himself. He wasn’t the kind of person you simply met and forgot. He left an impression.

There will be no traditional funeral. Norbert will be cremated, and a Celebration of Life will be held in the spring of 2027, where family and friends will gather to share stories, raise a cold drink, laugh about the good times, and remember a man who knew how to make life interesting.

And knowing Norbert, he’d probably prefer we don’t make the whole thing too sad.

So raise a glass, tell a good story, play a little music, and have a dang good time. That’s how Jr would want to be remembered.

Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
