Nebraskaland Bank will hold its annual Community Shred Day on Monday, May 19 at the Main Bank at 1400 S. Dewey from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

The event provides the community with a safe, secure way to dispose of sensitive documents while raising awareness about identity theft prevention.

The shredding service is open to the public with a convenient drive-thru format. Community members can bring up to five standard-sized boxes of items such as junk mail, bills, bank statements and credit card offers. Participants can remain in their vehicles while Nebraskaland Bank staff as well as volunteers from the Lincoln County Law Enforcement Memorial Board help unloading disposable bags and boxes.

Make a difference

This year’s event will include an opportunity to give back to the community. A free-will donation is encouraged, with all proceeds benefiting the Lincoln County Law Enforcement Memorial. Nebraskaland Bank will match donations up to $500.

Why shredding matters

With the rise of internet scams and fraudulent activity, protecting personal information is more critical than ever. Shredding sensitive documents like bank statements and personal data is a vital step in reducing the risk of identity theft and fraud. Nebraskaland Bank urges the community to take proactive measures to protect themselves and their families.
