A young man was killed Friday night in another fatal collision west of North Platte.

The Lincoln County sheriff’s office said at 9:43 p.m., the Lincoln County 911 Center received a report that a pickup and motorcycle collided at the intersection of U.S. Highway 30 and Game Trail Road.

Deputies and first responders found the motorcycle rider unresponsive. He was transported to Great Plains Health where he was pronounced dead by the medical staff. The motorcycle rider was Alexander Heiser, 23, of North Platte.

The driver of the pickup was uninjured, according to the sheriff’s report.

Accident reconstructionists from the sheriff’s office say the pickup pulled on to U.S. 30 from Game Trail Road and started to turn west.

Heiser, traveling east on U.S. 30, could not avoid colliding with the pickup.

Drugs and alcohol are not a suspected cause of the accident, the sheriff’s office said.

Heiser graduated from Hershey High School in 2014. He then went to the John Deere Tech School in Garden City, Kan. After graduating, he returned to the area where he worked for 21st Century in Ogallala, then Western Engineering, Miller Repair in Maxwell, and most recently for Olson Farms as a foreman/mechanic.

Memorial Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday July 30, at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Smith officiating. Register book signing will be Wednesday from 9-5 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.

It was the second fatal collision within 10 days on U.S. 30 just west of North Platte. Shortly after 9 p.m. July 15, a westbound passenger vehicle pulled out to pass another westbound vehicle, and immediately hit an eastbound sport utility vehicle, essentially head on. Douglas Thompson, 33, died in the accident.
