A micro-wrestling group that has toured for more than 15 years was featured March 28 at the Lincoln County fairgrounds.

It was a mini-macho showdown featuring the luchadores — Latin American wrestlers wearing colorful masks. The wrestlers are also known as the Dwarfinators.

The fighters squared off in four matches in traditional fashion – exaggerated and theatrical, sometimes loud and crude, much to the delight of the crowd.

To get the show started, the crowd stood and placed their hands over their hearts for the national anthem. Then the lights dimmed. The enthusiastic deejay and announcer, Ceasar, introduced the female referee, Ms. Tiffany. Tiffany received much love from the crowd as she danced in the ring to “Man I Feel Like a Woman” by Shania Twain, leading to round one.

The wrestlers, Micro Terror and Micro Doggy, entered the ring. Doggy took a beating right away. He received a bright red chest from Terror slapping him. His tee shirt was ripped off. He spent quite a lot of time on his back rather than his feet. Nonetheless, Doggy, the underdog, rallied and came out on top.

The second match featured the smallest of the wrestlers, Gaillito, at just a little over 3 feet tall. His opponent, Guapo VIP, seemed to have a lot of favor with the referee, Ms. Tiffany, and got a lot of assistance from her. Tiffany tripped Gaillito, threw him around and also kissed Guapo in front of everyone multiple times. Losing sight of the endgame, Gaillito started attacking the ref with much support from the crowd. who chanted in unison, “Ref you suck!” but it was all for naught because in the end, Guapo VIP took the win over the crowd favorite, little Gaillito.

The third match began with Lil Tucker strutting around carrying the stairs to the ring, in a show of confidence and strength. His opponent, Meatball, tried to climb into the ring without the stairs, unsuccessfully.

When they got going, both wrestlers whipped each other with Meatball’s sash. Tucker started it. But his punishment was returned before the end of the bout. It ended with Tucker beaten into a corner while Meatball danced with his posterior in Tucker’s face, leaving Meatball the victor.

In the fourth and final match, the reigning champion belt holder, Mini-Abismo, battled to protect his title against Micro-Angel.

Among Abismo’s less than sportsmanlike tactics, he brought a teen member audience to assist him. In retaliation, Micro-Angel asked for a bottle of water from a crowd member, then proceeded to take a drink, screw the lid back on, and smash Abismos head with it. This started an all-out battle royale with every performer coming in the ring to grab a piece of action. Gaillito came out on top, stripping Mini-Abismo of his title and ending the night with the crowd out of their seats, cheering vigorously.

The performers were from places such as El Paso, Texas: Sinaloa, Mexico; Guadalajara, Mexico; Monterrey, Mexico; and Mexico City. Nearly 180 patrons filled the room eagerly awaited the start of the show.

Before the fight, the Dwarfinator bus broke down in Kearney, leading to a 45-minute delay. But, both crew and entertainers worked quickly to set up ring and satisfy the crowd.
