Michael Laack was born in Beloit, Wis. on Aug. 19, 1972 and raised by his parents, Cindy and Dana Nolta.
He grew up in Wisconsin and attended school in Beloit and later earned his GED. Mike moved to North Platte and went to work at Cleary Construction then Dowhower Construction.
Mike had three daughters, Tesla, Journey and Santana, then met Stephanie Rodriguez and her three daughters, Shayla, Jocylin and Annika. Together they welcomed their daughter, Ceven.
He loved fishing, cooking, grilling, gardening, bowling, taking road trips, and riding his motorcycle. He was a Minnesota Vikings fan and coin collector. After moving to North Platte he became a supporter of St. Pat’s Irish basketball and volleyball.
Mike was a loving and caring father, son, brother and friend. He had a vibrant, compassionate personality and always cared for others and his dog, Doodles.
Mike passed away along with Stephanie on Sept. 21, 2024, following a motorcycle accident near Arthur. He was 52 years old.
Mike will be remembered for his “Dad Jokes” and his contagious laugh as he was always cracking jokes. He was known to be a “little” competitive, always wanting to score first or catch the first fish. He loved life and his family. He never missed a call from his girls and was always there for them. Mike was a good role model to others and leaves us with many loving memories, a legacy to continue, and a little bit of him in each of the seven girls.
He leaves behind his daughters, Tesla Sanchez (Gilberto), Journey Laack (Josh), Santana Modlin (Caiden) and Ceven Laack and Stephanie’s daughters, Shayla, Jocylin and Annika Sellers, all of North Platte.
Survivors also include his parents, Cindy Schober (Phill) of Beloit, Wis. and Dana (Marilyn) Nolta of Ferryville, Wis.; sister, Bernice Ramirez (Manuel) of Waukegan, Wis., and stepsisters, Kelly Nolta of Austin, Minn. and Trinisha Boland of Spencer, Wis.; grandchildren, Jenasis and Eliana Sanchez, Serenity Garcia, Josiah Sanchez, Ezley Garcia and Evelina Modlin; as well as other family and his friends.
He was preceded in death by his step mom, Brenda Nolta “Grandma Boo Boo” and step dad, Scoop Schober.
