The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office realizes the holidays can be a difficult time for families in need.
The sheriff’s staff reached out to villages and rural areas to provide 18 food baskets, thanks to a joint effort that was joined by Kelley Scritsmier and Byrne Law Offices, Hershey Super Foods and Macs Foods in Wallace.
The food baskets contain such items as turkeys, pies and vegetables, along with all the food needed for a traditional Thanksgiving meal.
The baskets are being delivered directly to families in need by sheriff’s patrol officers.
LCSO expressed sincere appreciation to everyone who donated to this effort in any way, whether it was a monetary gift or food donation.
Also a special thanks to many volunteers and North Platte Cub Scout Pack 292, who not only donated food but worked hard to put the baskets together.
From our families to yours, have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving.
