Due to rain, members of the Sioux Lookout chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution postponed memorial service that was scheduled Friday at the North Platte Cemetery.
The service is rescheduled at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday. About 42 ancestors of DAR are known to be buried in the cemetery. Their names will be read aloud and a flag placed on each grave, organizers said.

VFW Post 1504
Members of VFW Post 1504 will place flags at North Platte Cemetery at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 27. Any help would be appreciated.
VFW members will also participate in a walk to remember PTSD victims at 2 p.m. that day, Quartermaster Dave Beran said.
Fort McPherson
There will be a Memorial Day program at Fort McPherson from 2-2:45 p.m. on Monday, May 29.
A flyover by the 155th Refueling Wing out of Lincoln with KC 135 Tankers will open the program, followed by the National Anthem, organizers said.
The speakers will by Gold Star Mother Cheryl Schepker, the surviving mother of Cpt. Dustin Lukasiewicz), as well as Lincoln County Commissioner Chris Bruns.
Wreaths will be placed at the foot of the flagpole by veterans’ organizations.
In addition to military honors, Taps will be played, white doves will be released, and there will be a second flyover by the Pantheon Squadron of Pueblo, Colo.
Parking directions will be provided by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Posse.
The flyovers are subject to weather.
20th Century Veterans Memorial in North Platte
Services will begin at 4 p.m. on Monday.
Six veterans who have been touched by war will be awarded Quilts of Valor.
