Margaret Jean Norton, 80, of Maxwell, passed away Oct. 23, 2024 at Centennial Park Nursing Home in North Platte.
Margaret was born on Sept. 19, 1944 in North Platte to Otto and Doris Lunkwitz. She was the middle child to five brothers. Margaret grew up on a dairy farm. She attended and graduated from North Platte High School with the class of 1963.
In 1975, she attended Joesph’s College of Beauy. Margaret was united in marriage to Eddie Norton on Jan. 11, 1969 at the First Lutheran Church in North Platte. Together they raised their son, Bobby.
She will be remembered as a pie maker, a wonderful cook, her delicious bread, fried chicken for other people, popcorn for her grandkids, and her Thanksgiving Platters, fishing (she loved catfish), her flower and veggie gardens. Margaret loved her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Don, Danny, Roger, and Derl Lunkwitz.
Left to cherish Margaret’s memory are her brother, Ronnie Lunkwitz; son, Bobby (Amy) Norton; grandchildren, Connor Norton (Chantel), Ethan Norton (Alexis), Michael Osbon, Skylar Herrick (Konner); along with several nieces, nephews and many other family members & friends.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 28, at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home with Pastor Patrick Sipes officiating. Burial will follow at the Plainview Cemetery in Maxwell. Visitation will be from 1-4 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 27. Family will be receiving friends from 2-4.
