Weather permitting, maintenance work will begin on I-80 west of North Platte on Monday, March 17, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
Work includes crack sealing and pavement markings over a distance of six miles. Traffic will be maintained, with lane closures. A 12-foot width restriction will be in effect.
The project is expected to be finished in April. Midwest Coatings Company, Inc. of Modale, Iowa is the contractor.
Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and to put phones down. The NDOT said the purpose of this project is to preserve the transportation asset, improve the reliability of the transportation system and perpetuate the mobility of the traveling public.
