After reading Kyle Nichols’ announcement that he is going to run for the North Platte school board in ward 3, I feel compelled to write my first “Letter to the Editor” since living in North Platte for 68 years.

First of all, I want the readers to know that I don’t know any of the candidates who are running. I just like the positive comments that Mr. Nichols wrote compared to what I have been reading. I might add that my wife, Laurie and I, worked proudly for NPPS for a combined total of 60 years as teacher, coach and administrator.

I just feel we need a more positive person on our school board.
