Loretta “Jeannie” J. Fourtner, 76, of North Platte passed away on Sunday, Oct. 24, 2021 at Great Plains Health.
She was born on Feb. 8, 1945 in Hastings and was raised by her mother and father, Vesta (Bacon) Beig and Robert “Bob” Beig. She grew up in Hartington and graduated in 1963 from Hartington High School, and later attended business school in Yankton, S.D.
She was married in 1964 to Harold Lammers in Fordyce. Following Harold’s passing in 2000, she married Rich Fourtner in 2007.
Jeannie enjoyed collecting chickens, vases and barns, and loved flowers.
Jeannie is survived by her 2nd husband, Rich; children, Thomas H. Lammers (Susan) of Tilden, Theresa J. Kramer of North Platte, and Todd H.D. Lammers (Shanna) of Elgin; grandchildren, Martin, Myles, Mason, Jael, Ryker, and Jace Lammers, Kiya Kramer; great-grandchildren, Emma, Spencer, Nalaya, Oliver, Noah and Nicolas Lammers; step-children, Daren Fourtner and Dana Fourtner, both of Texas, Danny Fourtner and Brenda Fourtner, both of North Platte, Sherri Higgins of S.D., and Brian Fourtner of Sutherland; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Peggy Wedel (Paul) of Iowa, Charlotte Jones (Dave) of Oregon, Jance Snook of Hartington and Deann Beig (Sue Koch) of Tennessee; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her 1st husband, Harold Lammers; parents, Robert “Bob” and Vesta Beig; brothers, Danny Hourigan and Robert Beig; and brother-in-law, Leonard Snook.
A prayer service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 29 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which is entrusted with arrangements. Rev. Vidya Sagar Arikotla will officiate. Burial will follow at North Platte Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, Oct. 28 from 1-7 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. at Carpenter Memorial Chapel.
