LeMoyne (Monie) C. Farmer, 69, of North Platte passed away surrounded by family on January 2, 2025.

Lemoyne was born March 17, 1955, in Gordon, Nebraska, to Lloyd and Ruth (Leonhardt) Farmer.

Monie grew up attending school in Sutherland and graduated from Sutherland High School in 1973. After graduating, he worked for Pawnee Springs for 5 years before shifting to a career at Union Pacific as a carman where he made many lifelong friends. During this time, he also did some ranching on the side, enjoying spending time in the great outdoors. After settling down a bit, LeMoyne met the love of his life, Sara, and was married to her for 20 years before his passing.

Monie was always sociable, often spending his free time playing pool and making merry at the bar with friends old and new. As an avid Husker fan, he often enjoyed discussing football and volleyball with all who would listen, becoming quite the popular patron. However, he never let his time with friends interfere with his time with family. He loved his family and leaves them with wonderful memories of watching sports, playing cards, checking livestock on horseback, and driving through pastures checking fences.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Sara Farmer of Hershey; daughter Leah Carlyle of North Platte; sons Christian (Ceara) Farmer of Lincoln and Landon Farmer of Hershey; grandchildren Heaven, Riggin, Creed, Elijah, and Patsy; and many other loved ones.

Preceding him in death are his parents Lloyd and Ruth Farmer.

Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at Adams and Swanson Funeral Home with Pastor John Stone officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Hershey. Adams and Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu if flowers, memorials can be made to the family for designation at a later time.
