Dr. Kristin Lake has been elected to the North Platte Catholic school board to represent St. Patrick’s parish and businessman Steve Budke will represent Holy Spirit parish, following elections that were held Nov. 2-3.
Lake and Budke will replace outgoing board members Scott Castillo and Connie Brittan.
The Catholic Schools Board of Education approved the candidates from each parish on Tuesday, Oct. 15.
In addition to Lake, Dr. Lannae Phelps ran for the St. Patrick’s seat. The Holy Spirit candidates were Budke, Renae Brandt and Marcy Hunter.
Also at the Oct. 15 school board meeting, Supt. Kevin Dodson said a strategic planning steering committee meeting will be held Nov. 23. This is a part of the school’s accreditation process through the Nebraska Department of Education. The steering committee will be comprised of faculty, parents, board members and students.
Dodson also said September’s parent-teacher conferences were well attended.
The next Catholic school board meeting is scheduled at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19 in the St. Patrick’s High School library.
