At 18 years old, Judy married the love of her life, Gary Grimes of North Platte on Aug. 26, 1962. Judy and Gary had met at a carnival in Gothenburg with the help of a few friends, and the rest was history.

They enjoyed their 3 grandchildren: Matthew Grimes of Mountain View, Calif., Megan Befus and husband Nathaniel Befus of Loveland, Colo. and Rachel Caravan.
After retirement, Judy and Gary returned to North Platte to be near family and friends. They enjoyed spending winters in Brenda, Arizona and many adventures during their 62 years of marriage.
Judy loved cooking and baking, and was well known for her delicious meals and baked goods. Her famous chocolate chip brownies were frequently requested for family potlucks and holidays.
Judy also enjoyed playing card games. She spent many hours over the years belonging to card clubs and playing games with family, especially while camping.
Judy and Gary were avid campers and spent many weekends at Lake Maloney and Lake McConaughy. Judy was also well known for her many crafts, especially knitting and crocheting. She made countless afghans and slippers for her loved ones and always had a stash of yarn ready for the next project.
Judy was also an expert level Sudoku player and enjoyed word searches.
