Joy Elaine Osborne, 64, of North Platte died March 29, 2024 at Great Plains Health.

She was born on April 17, 1959 in Valentine to Robert and Alice (Smith) Hill. Joy went to school in Crookston and graduated from Valentine High School in 1977.

After graduation, Joy went to Mid Plains Community College in North Platte. On Nov. 26, 1979, she married Dale Osborne. The couple made their home in Maxwell for 15 years before returning to North Platte.

Joy worked at Hinky Dinky and Safeway for 20 years. She then went to work for Great Plains Health, where she worked in the accounting department for 19 years.

Joy will be remembered as an excellent wife, mother, and grandmother. She was very proud of her family, especially her grandchildren. Joy enjoyed going on long walks with her husband and friends. She also loved nature and being outside.

She was always at her grandchildren’s soccer games no matter how cold it was. She was their biggest fan.  She was a member of the Church of Christ on Willow, where she was a very faithful member.

Survivors include her husband, Dale of North Platte; children, Jennifer Osborne and Kyle (Christina) Osborne, both of North Platte; grandchildren, Jaden, Anika, Jordynn, Brekkan, Bria, Rowan and Crew; brothers, Edward (Marilyn) Hill of Valentine and Wesley (Shelly) Hill of Kilgore; and numerous other family members and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Larry Hill; and sister, Kathy.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday April 4 at the Church of Christ on Willow Street with Rev. Harold Rea officiating. Burial will be at North Platte Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from noon-7 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of assisting the family with arrangements.
