Jerry Ray Houchin, 53, of North Platte passed away suddenly on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2022 at his home.

Jerry was born on February 25, 1969 in North Platte the son of Dallas P. and Linda (Castor) Houchin.

Jerry attended elementary and Jr. high in North Platte and high school in Colo. He loved being a painter and started painting under his grandpa when he was just 5 years old. He worked as a painter alongside his brothers at Precision Painting. He enjoyed fishing, camping, race cars, and listening to old time country music. Jerry will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish Jerry’s memory are wife, Jen; mother, Linda; sons, Dallas, Tony and William, all of TX; brothers, Jeffrey (Amy) Houchin, and Terry Houchin, both of North Platte, Bud (Gladys) Welch of Alliance; sisters, Tammy (Brad) Betts, and Terri Lynn (Jamie) Jones, both of North Platte; two grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Nate and Austin Houchin, Cortney and Tyler Enger, and Kayla Houchin; great-nieces and great-nephews, Brantley, Adelyn, Paya, and Kayden. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Dallas; and niece, Ryleigh.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which has been entrusted with arrangements. Pastor Joe Cissle will officiate. Burial will follow in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 1–7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 22 with the family receiving friends from 5–7 p.m. at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which has been entrusted with the arrangements.
