Why are you asking for all of this information?
There are a couple of reasons. First, we all know that newspapers stay in business by selling advertising, right? Well, advertisers usually like to know a little about the people who are seeing their ads. While we never give them your personal information we do tell them how many men or women or people in an age or income group are reading our newspaper and Web site.

Another reason is for accountablity. It is tempting to abuse the Talk Back feature. Our guess is that if readers know that we can identify them then they won’t be as likely to abuse the system.

By the way, you probably want to use only valid and accurate information. If you want to place classifieds online or use future e-commerce or other premium features accurate information will be needed.

Why should I register when I can read news, classifieds and other information without doing so?
Registering allows you to access the interactive features of the Site such as Talk Back. In the near future registered users will be able to enter classifieds, recipies and many other premium features that those who do not register won’t have access to.
