Well North Platte, I’m rather surprised to hear from NTV that Holdrege is going to have a Hy-Vee grocery store.
How is it that the powers that be from our city aren’t courting Hy-Vee? How can a city of less than 10,000 have such a luxury?
It would be nice to have a grocery store with a better and bigger assortment to choose from. It’s no wonder people drive to Kearney or Grand Island to shop.
And now, another reason to drive to Holdrege. Not only their unique little stores, but Hyvee.

Holdrege will get a dollar fresh market like York and Lexington did. They don’t put Hy-Vees in existing structures, they always build from the ground up on actual Hy-Vee stores. Conversely, Dollar Fresh Markets seem to always utilize existing structures.
