A Hershey man was killed early Saturday morning, Nov. 29 when his pickup rolled on its side in a ditch on U.S. Highway 30.

Johan Groenewald, 41, of Hershey was the only occupant and did not survive, the Lincoln County sheriff’s office said.

The single vehicle wreck happened around 5:30 a.m. about three miles east of Hershey on U.S. 30.

When deputies arrived, they found the pickup had entered the north ditch and “rolled partially over onto its side,” the sheriff’s office said.

Winter road conditions and no seatbelt in use appeared to be contributing factors in the wreck, the sheriff said.
