Gosper County wreck claims North Platte man’s life

Two vehicles collided head-on Thursday afternoon, May 25, on U.S. Highway 283, about four miles south of Elwood.

Each vehicle was driven by a sole occupant, the Gosper County Sheriff’s Office said. Both men received emergency medical assistance but succumbed to injuries and were pronounced dead on the scene by the Gosper County Coroner.

North Platte resident Aureliano J. Marcias, 52, was killed. So as Omaha resident Glen H. Wolf, 58.

The Gosper County Sheriff’s Office and the Elwood Fire and Rescue Unit responded to the report of the wreck shortly after 5 p.m. Thursday

The Gosper County Sheriff has released no further information. The investigation is ongoing, the sheriff said Friday afternoon.

Elwood Fire and Rescue, Nebraska State Patrol and Nebraska Game and Parks Conservation Officers assisted with emergency safety and traffic control operations.
