Hershey couldn’t get much going on offense on Tuesday and they lost, 46-30, to Gothenburg in sub-districts in Imperial.

The Lady Panthers end their season with a record of 11-11. The Swedes (15-8) advance to play Chase County (16-5) in the C1-11 finals on Thursday.

Hershey led 11-10 in the first quarter. Gothenburg took the lead on a three-pointer by Marley Kennicutt. Then Annica Harm made a free throw for the Swedes to end the opening period.

Gothenburg continued to rally in the second. Kynlee Strauser made a free throw and then Ashlyn Richeson banked in a three to make it 18-11.

The Panthers kept the deficit from getting into double figures in the second but they couldn’t cut into the lead much and they were down 24-16 at halftime.

The third quarter was also low scoring and the Swedes were up 30-21 going into the fourth.

Richeson opened the fourth by burying a three and Gothenburg cruised the rest of the way. Hershey remained stagnant on offense and for the second straight year, their season came to an end at the hand of the Swedes in sub-districts.
