Gary Robert Venezie, 71, of North Platte passed away March 26, 2026 at his home.

He was born June 28, 1954 to Robert Andrew and June Marie (Richerson) Venezie in Ft. Worth, Texas. He graduated from Bellevue High School in 1972 and retired from Union Pacific Railroad in 2019.

Gary was united in marriage to Merry Bullington on November 30, 1978 in North Platte. To this union, two sons were born, Andrew Duane and Adam Christopher.

Gary enjoyed riding his Harley and he and Merry took several trips together. He was also fond of restoring his 1947 Studebaker pickup. Gary was a devoted husband, father and grandfather inventing games to play together. Gary loved cars, sports, playing banjo and guitar, bluegrass music and trivia. His dry sense of humor was unmatched.

Gary is survived by his wife, Merry; sons, Andrew (Jada) Venezie of North Platte, Adam (Selena) Venezie of Temple, TX; sister, Cindy (Norman) Olson of Milwaukee, WI; mother-in-law, Alma Bullington, brothers-in-law, Cecil (Mickey) Bullington, Garth Bullington; sisters-in-law, Valma Smith, Rhonda Couch, Alisa (Leonard) Phillips, Marsha Bullington; grandchildren, Cheyenne and Kennedy Czarnick, Adriyanna, Tony, Maya, and Harper Venezie; great grandson, Tez’Moni Czarnick; many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Veldon Bullington; brothers-in-law, Edwin Bullington, Don Smith; sister-in-law, Jodi Bullington; nephew, Tab Bullington; and great niece, Sira Bullington.

Services were held Tuesday, March 31 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home with Rev. John Stone as officiant. Adams & Swanson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
