Garrett L. Holscher, 33, of Newman Grove, Neb. passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026 at Boone County Health Center in Albion.
Garrett was born to Ren and Marta Richardson and spent his early years in Chadron. He moved to North Platte with his mom and younger brother, Grant, in the second grade. In 2008, he welcomed step dad Rick into his life and graduated from North Platte High School in 2011. A few years later, Garrett earned an associates degree in welding from Southeast Community College at Milford.
Garrett enjoyed wrestling, riding his Harley and working on his truck. He loved learning new things and enjoyed wonderful friendships with his coworkers at Lindsay Zimmatic. Garrett felt a deep sense of belonging and love for the community of Newman Grove and was always willing to help his neighbors out. Thank you, Newman Grove community, for giving Garrett the gift of friendship and belonging. Most importantly, he loved his family deeply.
Garrett is loved and will be dearly missed by his surviving family: parents, Marta and Rick Nelson; children, Odin and Aurora Holscher; brother, Grant Holscher (Taylor Husman); dad and step mom, Ren and Kellie Richardson; grandparents, Ron and Karon Holscher; half brother, Gavin Richardson; step sister, Corye Nelson (Jon Hongsermeier); step brother, Aaron (Jen) Nelson; beloved uncles, Kurt (Denise) Holscher and Eric (Teresa) Holscher; grandmother, Helen Nelson; aunt, Barbara (Kent) Price; uncle, Roger (Sue) Nelson; and aunt, Rene’ (Ben) Lambert.
Memorial service will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 4 at Levander Funeral Home of Albion with Rev. Chris Phelps officiating. The family will be available to receive condolences at the conclusion of the service. Interment will take place at a later date.
Memorials are suggested for the benefit of Garrett’s children, Odin and Aurora, for their future education. Donations will be overseen by their grandparents.
