From 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, Jan 28, a benefit will be held for Dale Hovey at Unreel Events on W. Rodeo Road.

Food, entertainment by Top Shelf Country, a silent and live auction will be provided to raise funds for Hovey’s medical bills. Raffle tickets are also available for 50 pounds of beef and three firearms — a .22 rifle, a handgun and an AR-style rifle.

Hovey was diagnosed in September with small cell carcinoma lung cancer. He has not worked since November and chemotherapy and radiation treatments are taking a toll, his daughter Brandy said. Treatments will continue until April.

Hovey works for Masonite International, a maker of doors for both residential and commercial buildings, located in North Platte’s industrial park south of E. Philips Ave. He has worked for the company for 29 years.

The family is seeking donations to ease the stress and financial burden. They created a Facebook page and a GoFundMe page in the hopes of raising $16,000 for expenses.

To acquire raffle tickets, contact Brandy Hovey at 308-650-2432.
