Fred Paul Fiedler, age 92, passed away at Great Plains Health on November 8, 2024. He was born one of two boys to Ernest and Josephine (Schmitt) Fielder on February 10, 1932, in Hammelburg, Germany.

Fred moved to America in 1934 with his family and eventually graduated from Fremont High School in 1949. He enlisted into the United States Navy and served the country until 1953. On August 19, 1956, Fred was married to his beloved Anita Johansen in Fremont, NE. The couple brought three boys into the world, Michael, Mark, and Mitchell. For 36 years, Fred worked as a salesman for Hormel. When the family moved to North Platte, they owned and operated Fiedler’s Meat Market on the corner of 4th and Chestnut.
