North Platte St. Pat’s dominated Valentine on the road, 56-6, to finish the regular season on Friday.

The Irish (8-1) took the lead on a 43-yard touchdown run by Jackson Roberts. St. Pat’s followed with two more touchdowns to take a commanding 21-0 lead.

Valentine (1-7) got on the board after that for their only score of the game. But the Irish kept on rolling. They scored two more touchdowns in the first half to lead 35-6 and they finished the game strong in the second half.

Next, St. Pat’s will be the No. 8 seed in the Class C2 state playoffs and they will host Hartington Cedar Catholic (7-2) in the first round on Oct. 29.

It is the 13th straight playoff appearance for the Irish. Against Cedar Catholic, they will be going for their first win in the playoffs since 2014.
