The weather was the only thing that slowed down North Platte St. Pat’s in their 57-14 win at Sutherland in a game that started on Friday night and ended early Saturday morning.

In the first game between the two Lincoln County rivals in 11 years, St. Pat’s (5-0) scored the first touchdown before a thunderstorm hit and the game was delayed.

Play didn’t resume until near midnight and Sutherland (1-3) scored on a touchdown pass from Cauy Kohl to Ryker Copeland. But Kohl’s pass on the two-point conversion went incomplete and the Irish still had the lead, 7-6.

After that, St. Pat’s dominated. They led 43-6 at halftime and they added two more touchdowns in the second half before the Sailors scored again to finish the game at around 2 a.m.

Next, the Irish will host Sandhills Valley (4-0), while Sutherland travels to Perkins County (3-1).
