Brock Roblee’s touchdown run with 32 seconds left gave North Platte High a 27-24 win at Millard West on Friday.

The Bulldogs (6-2) took the lead in the first quarter on a touchdown run by Roblee in the first quarter. But Millard West (2-6) finished the first half with a touchdown and a field goal to lead 10-7 at halftime.

The Wildcats got a touchdown to open the second half to go up by 10. North Platte got on the board again with a touchdown run by Caleb Tonkinson. But Millard West answered with another touchdown to make it a 10-point game again in the fourth quarter.

The Bulldogs scored again on a touchdown pass from Tonkinson to Cole Wright. Then they stopped the Wildcats to set up the game-winning drive.

NPHS moved the ball into Millard West territory and then they faced fourth down and six to go from the 38. Tonkinson found Kolten Tilford for the first down to near the 20. Then after Tonkinson spiked the ball, he found Wright on the left side at the three. That was where Roblee ran it in to put the Bulldogs ahead.

On the ensuing kickoff, the Wildcats bobbled the squib kick and North Platte recovered. Tonkinson took a knee to run out the remaining time and the Dawgs got the win over Millard West to match last year’s win total.

Next, NPHS will play at Columbus (6-2) on Oct. 22 to finish the regular season.
