Families 1st Partnership will host a celebration for Pony Express Riders during their annual Ride Across Nebraska when they stop at 1:30 p.m. May 15 at Cody Park in North Platte.

The public is invited to attend and take part.

Now in its 18th year, the Pony Express Ride Across Nebraska is a statewide effort that raises awareness and advocates for increased funding for mental health programs through the Nebraska Legislature.

Each year, a dedicated group of motorcycle riders departs from Scottsbluff, traveling along the I-80 corridor and stopping in communities along the way to collect letters of support from residents.

These letters, which call for stronger investment in mental health services, are gathered during
events hosted by family support organizations. The ride culminates on Saturday, May 17, at the state
Capitol in Lincoln, where the letters are delivered directly to members of the Nebraska Unicameral.

The North Platte stop will feature an opportunity to meet the Pony Express riders, sign letters of support, and participate in raising awareness about the importance of mental health. Community members interested in submitting a letter or requesting a template may call 308-520-9813 or email f1pcomcord@fam-1st.org.

Families 1st Partnership has served as a nonprofit backbone organization in the North Platte area since February 2018.
