The general election ballot contains important races, plus three big questions. Here they are:

Proposal to increase city sales and use tax rate

Shall the city of North Platte increase the local sales and use tax rate by an additional 1/2% from the current rate of 1.5% — to a rate of 2%, with the additional 1/2% to be used for public infrastructure within the city, or voter approved infrastructure related to an economic development program.

Proposal for five commissioners

Shall Lincoln County expand the board of county commissioners from 3 to 5?

Proposal to expand Medicaid in Nebraska

Should the state of Nebraska expand Medicaid to cover adults ages 19-64 whose incomes are 138% of the federal poverty level or below? (This would be a yearly income of $16,753 for a single person – and a yearly household income of $34,638 for a family of four.)
