Emma Troshynski, 8, has set up a lemonade stand for the past two years to donate all of her proceeds to the Goodfellow Shoe Fund.
Emma’s stand raised $150 last year, and this year on Aug. 17, she raised $585. Her parents matched her earnings, and a neighbor even wrote a check for $100.
Emma is donating a total of $985 to the Goodfellow Shoe Fund this year.
The Goodfellow Shoe Fund is a non-profit program that is unique to Lincoln County. It provides shoes to children ages 2-18 in need.
Once an application is received and approved, a volunteer contacts the family and sets up an appointment at Brown’s Shoe Fit or The Sports Shoppe in North Platte.
Applications can be picked up at the North Platte Public Library located at 120 W. Fourth St.
Donations can be sent to PO Box 923, North Platte, NE, 69103.
According to Emma, she has big plans for next year’s lemonade stand.
