Dwana Paul, 71, of Maxwell passed away January 29, 2025.

Dwana was born on June 6, 1953, in Loup City, Nebraska, to Dale and Delores Dickman. She moved to Maxwell during her senior year of high school in 1971, where she became a beloved member of the community. Dwana’s entrepreneurial spirit led her to open several businesses over the years, beginning with a daycare center she owned and operated from 1980 to 2000. She later expanded her ventures to Welton’s then Paul’s Properties, which she managed from 1980 until her passing.

Dwana’s heart for the community also led her to run The Corner Store from 2012 to 2014, providing a local gathering place for neighbors and friends. In addition to her business endeavors, Dwana worked at Maxwell Public Schools from 2000 to the present, touching the lives of many students and staff over the years.

Dwana will be remembered not only for her entrepreneurial drive but for her deep commitment to her family, friends, and community. She loved crafting with her kids and her Days of Our Lives and was known for being caring, hardworking.

She is survived by Mother In-law, Ian Carstens ; Children, Marci (Red) Jackson, Traci Picotte, Tammi (Jeff) Lucht, Cassi Brewer, Tori (Travis) Harris, Henry Paul, Kayli Lewis, Carrie (Ron) Walker, Doug (Bonita) Paul; grandchildren, Makenzie (Derek), Merissa, Josh, Cole, Rachel (Taylor), Mataya, Kayden, Rebecca, Brison, Raylynn, Turner, Tripp, Jayda (Austin), Abbey (Kaden), Alexa, Hayden, Jaxon, Catie, Wanita, Austen, Sammie; great grandchildren, Braden, Riley, Amara, Reighn, Reiko, Ryott, Liam, Brantley, Stella; grand dog, Walker; brothers, Dwain (Nancy) Dickman, Darrell Dickman; sister, Darlene Dickman; numerous other family members and many friends.

Preceding her in death were parents, Dale and Deloris Dickman; father-in-law, Norris Carstens; husband, Kevin Paul; grandson, Jayden Lewis.

Services will be held 1:00 P.M., Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Maxwell Baptist Church with Pastor Ayden Boller officiating. Visitation will be held, 12:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M., Friday, January 31, 2025 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
