The Wreaths Across America event will be held at noon Thursday, Dec. 19 at Fort McPherson National Cemetery/Shrine.

The goal of the event is to place a live, balsam fir wreath at the headstone of every veteran buried at Fort McPherson National Cemetery, to spread patriotism and ensure no one is forgotten.

The Lee Bird composite squadron of the Civil Air Patrol is helping support this event by promoting sponsorships/donations for wreaths.

Tom Moore, Squadron Commander, is asking people to sponsor wreaths for veterans’ headstones. Wreaths are needed yet for hundreds of headstones.

The cost of each wreath is only $15.

To donate in person, stop by Moore’s workplace — Great Plains Realty at 511 S. Dewey in North Platte.
