Deborah Lynn Welsh, 66, of North Platte passed away Friday, May 19, 2023 at North Platte Care Center.
Deborah was born Oct. 17, 1956 to Edward and Ruth Ellen (Davis) Schnitzer in North Platte.
She lived in North Platte throughout her childhood and graduated from North Platte High School in 1975. After moving to and living in Grand Island for a few years, she returned to North Platte where she married Steven Welsh.
Deborah ran a home Day Care in North Platte for five years and worked at the North Platte Community Day Care for the following 27 years while working at the Presbyterian Church Nursery for many years.
Deborah enjoyed watching Days of Our Lives every day. She was an avid fan of plays and musicals and often frequented the Neville Center. She also went on numerous bus tours and enjoyed traveling and sightseeing. Deborah loved her family, holding a special place in her heart for her grandchildren especially.
Deborah is survived by her husband, Steven of North Platte; children, Tiffany Zeff of Summerville, S.C. and William Welsh of Omaha; grandchildren, Fred (Sharon) Ehlers of Grand Junction, Colo., Rhonda Godbey of North Platte and Roger (Donna) Bir of Norfolk, Va.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be held on Thursday, May 25, at 10:30 a.m. at Adams and Swanson Funeral Home with Pastor Emily McCreery officiating. Burial will follow the service at 1:00 P.M. at Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, Nebraska. Book signing will be from 9- 5., Wednesday, May 24 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home who is in charge of arrangements.
