Applicants for the two new county commissioner seats have until 5 p.m. Wednesday to submit a letter of interest and a resume to the Lincoln County Clerk’s office.
The two new commissioners will be appointed on Dec. 10, if all goes well.
County Clerk Becky Rossell said Monday about a half-dozen people have applied, and the clerk’s office has had several more inquiries.
From the letter and resume, the top three candidates in each district will be determined by a selection committee.
Those six candidates will then be interviewed.
The selection committee consists of Lincoln County Attorney Rebecca Harling, County Treasurer Sue Fleck and Rossell.
The committee will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6 to review the applicants as a committee. The committee will then schedule a subsequent meeting, probably on Dec. 10, to interview the top candidates.
