Daniel “Danny” Dean James, 52, of North Platte passed away at his home on May 16, 2023.
The son of Byron James and Lora Dimmitt, he was born on Dec. 15, 1970 in North Platte.
Danny was raised in North Platte, graduating with the class of 1990 from North Platte High School. Upon graduation, he married Jeana Alber. From this union, Danny became a father to Mitch and the couple then had a son, Allen.
He was a dedicated man, working at Pizza Hut throughout all four of his high school years. While he lived in Colorado for a brief time, Danny worked at a pig plant. In the late 90’s, he began his career at Masonite, where he worked most recently.
He was passionate about his Harley Davidson’s and had an intense love for his family and friends. You could often find him fishing and could almost always count on him wearing a pink shirt.
Danny was known to many as the “Harley man in pink”. He had a jolly personality and a gentle soul; he was willing to help any friend at any time with anything. Though most people saw his ornery side, those close to him knew he could be stubborn. He was his mother’s #1 son and will be missed by her dearly.
Those left to carry on his spirit are his children, Allen (Brooklyn) James and Mitch (Samantha) Murphy; mother, Lora Jean Dimmitt; siblings, Kevin James, Teresa James, and Dixie (Nathan Lenz) Lehmkuhler; granddaughters, Riley Murphy and Maxine James; several cousins, nieces, nephews, and tons of friends.
Preceding Danny in death is his dad, Byron James; grandparents, Eileen and Anard James; great-grandma, Jewel Strong; nephew, Patrick Sheets.
A celebration of life will be held in the future for family and close friends.
Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation and online condolences can be shared at adamsswanson.com.
