The KJLT/KJTF Christian radio family will hold its annual Sharathon fundraiser on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, Oct. 8, 9 and 10.

The special guest is Keith Becker of the Todd Becker Foundation.  The broadcasts will be hosted by Gary Hofer, Roger Olson and the KJLT staff.

The radio stations are non-commercial and listener supported. Listeners are encouraged to support the local Christian ministry and can find out more at kjlt.org

Everyone is invited to stop at the studios at B & Bailey in North Platte from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. during the Sharathon for food and refreshments.

HD radio

Also, KJLT 94.9 FM in North Platte has added HD, so those with HD receivers can receive KJLT 970 AM programs on the 94.9 FM channel. It is known as HD3, General Manager Gary Hofer said.

HD Radio is a technology that broadcasts digital signals with improved sound quality and more channels.

Listeners with HD receivers have been able to hear the contemporary Christian music station with near CD quality, crystal clear radio, as well as the more traditional Christian music on KJTF 89.3 FM as HD2 on the 94.9 FM channel.

Hofer said many may already have an HD receiver in their vehicle and not realize it. An HD logo will appear on any HD receiver when it is tuned to an HD radio station.

KJLT FM is North Platte’s only local HD station with the cutting-edge technology, Hofer said.

The HD3 launch is just in time for the KJLT Radio Family Sharathon fundraiser, which will take place on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, Oct. 8, 9 and 10.
