Byron E. Daly, 92, passed away Sept. 26, 2024 at Gothenburg Health. 

He was born May 28, 1932 in a home near Hat Creek Stage Station in Wyoming to Charles E. and Hazel (Winters) Daly.  

Byron had four brothers and two sisters.  The family moved back to the Tryon area in 1953 where he attended school and graduated from Tryon High School with the class of 1949.  Byron married Wanda F. Allen of Stapleton on Sept. 17, 1950 in North Platte.  

Byron worked on ranches in the Arthur, Tryon, and Stapleton area.  He enjoyed team roping and travelling.  In 1971, Byron became a part time brand inspector.  He liked it well enough that he became a full-time inspector in 1973.  They moved him to Thedford, Kearney, and Broken Bow.  After 25 years of brand inspecting, he retired and Byron and Wanda moved to Stapleton with Wanda passing away in 1996. 

Survivors include son, Dan (Deb) Daly of Mullen; daughter, Kristy (Dan) Kramer of Stapleton; son-in-law, Joe Downing of Seneca; sister, Vera (Bill) Jividen of Stapleton; grandchildren, Jillana (Chris Valentino) Downing, Nancee (Mike) Welling, Kodi (Greg) Weigel, Kylee (Ty) Duncan, Kaylee (Julian) Assibey; great grandchildren, Leonardo Valentino , Matteo Valentino, Ainslee (Camryn) Morrison, Kwade Welling, AbbyGayle Welling, Kinley (Lucas) Simmons, Kole Weigel, Arriana Duncan, Sophia Duncan, Malachi Assibey, Elijah Assibey; great great grandchildren, Violet Erickson, Ryker Erickson, Alora Simmons; numerous other family members and friends.

Byron was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda; daughter, Gayle; brothers, Walter (Emory), Lloyd (Swede), Clinton (Heavy) and Richard (Dick); sister, Phyllis Priest.

Services will be held 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2024 at Gandy Community Bible Church with Reverend Frank Scott officiating.  Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery near Tryon.  Visitation will be held noon -7 p.m. with family present 5-7, Monday, Sept. 30, 2024 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
